PARTNERING WITH GOD

God's Power + Our Action = Partnership
It would be silly if an unemployed guy needs money and realizes that a job will help change his situation, so he prays about it - but never applies for a job!

WHO’S RESPONSIBILITY IS IT?

Sometimes that’s what we do.  We put ALL the responsibility on God.  But we have a part to play in our prayers being answered, in transformation taking place in our lives and within our hearts.

I give the unemployed guy credit for praying.  It shows that he knows there is help available beyond himself but he stopped short in not realizing that God expects us to do something. We are in partnership with God

He initiates miracles at times but when we decide to do something, is when change most often begins.

GROWTH STARTS WITH YOUR WILL

Some people think that since God is almighty and nothing is impossible with Him, He will do what needs done in our lives.  The metamorphosis is His work alone.

That may be true when it comes to the caterpillar’s transformation to a butterfly and a tadpole’s change into a frog but God has given us free will to participate in our own growth and transformation.

He gives us truth, He gives us faith, but then we have to act on it.  That’s what is meant by “faith without works is dead” and (James 2:26 KJV) and “Show me your faith without any actions, and I will show you my faith by my actions.” (James 2:18 ISV)

PARTNERING WITH GOD

Even beginning a new life in Christ requires our will and our actions. Jesus did everything to provide us with eternal life and all of its benefits. Then He said, whosoever will – let him come.  When we respond to him by giving him our will and our actions, He gives us His power and He will create the supernatural changes in and for us.

As we cultivate or develop our relationship with God, we are partnering with Him.  He will do His part; but we have to do our part. What are you doing to create change in your life?

What are some ways that you have cultivated your partnership with God? We would love for you to share some tips in the comments on the blog site.
